Raphidophora decursiva, often called the Philodendron Dragon Tail, is a tropical climber from the Araceae family. It’s a fast-growing vining or creeping plant that can reach up to 15 meters in its natural habitat. Indoors, it usually grows between 1 and 3 meters. Its stunning leaves really come to life when given support, such as a moss pole or coco coir stake—then they can grow huge and develop beautiful fenestrations, much like a Monstera.

PLANT CARE
Light This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate slightly lower light, but with more light it will grow faster and develop more strikingly fenestrated (“split”) leaves. Avoid direct midday sun, as it can scorch the leaves.
Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. In winter, it needs less water. Overwatering can lead to root rot. If the soil stays wet for a long time, the plant may not be getting enough light or may be in an unsuitable substrate.

Humidity Loves high humidity (over 40%), but adapts well to normal indoor conditions.
Do you need to improve humidity level in your place? Here are our recommendations.
Repotting and feeding He will love our Tropical soil mix or Semi-hydro mix. Feed him once a month in growing season with balanced NPK fertilizer

Toxicity He is toxic. Keep away from pets and children.
Common problems and solutions
1. Small or unfenestrated leaves: The plant needs more light and climbing support. Move it to a brighter spot and provide a moss or coconut fiber pole.
2. Yellowing leaves – Most often a sign of lack of light, overwatering or lack of nutrients. Move it to a brighter spot, check drainage and reduce watering if needed, or add a small amount of fertilizer at the next watering.
3. Slow growth – The plant needs more light or nutrients. Move it to a brighter spot or feed it with a milder fertilizer.
4. Pests – Thrips and spider mites love this plant. Leaves may appear misshapen or discolored, sometimes with a silvery sheen, brown spots or are covered in fine webbing. Try washing the leaves and treating the plant with neem oil.
Pro tip Providing a support will help him produce larger, more beautifully fenestrated leaves.
