PLANT CARE

Light    It thrives best in a bright space with indirect light. It also tolerates partial shade and slightly darker areas, but in a brighter environment it will grow faster, and its leaves will be larger and more beautifully colored. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Water    Water moderately. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings. In winter, it requires less water. Overwatering can cause root rot. If the soil remains wet for an extended period, the plant may not be receiving enough light or may not be planted in a suitable substrate.

Humidity    It prefers moderate to higher humidity (above 40%), but it also adapts very well to average indoor humidity.

Do you need to improve humidity level in your place? Here are our recommendations.

Repotting and feeding    He will love one of our mixes Tropcal soil mix and Universal housplant soil mix. Feed him once a month in growing season with balanced organic NPK fertilizer

Toxicity    He is toxic. Keep out of reach of pets and children.

Common problems and solutions

  1. Brown leaf tips – Most often caused by dry air or irregular watering. Ensure consistent watering and increase humidity if needed.
  2. Yellowing of lower leaves – A natural aging process. Occasional leaf drop is normal. If it happens frequently, the plant may lack light or nutrients. Move it to a brighter spot or fertilize with a mild fertilizer. Check that the roots are healthy.
  3. Slow growth - This is normal for this variety, as it grows more slowly than the classic golden pothos. If growth is extremely slow, you can move the plant to a brighter spot or add a little fertilizer at the next watering if it hasn’t been fertilized for a long time.
  4. Pest - thrips and meally bugs do love this plant. The leaves will be weirdly shaped and colored, sometimes with silver sheen or brown spots. Try washing the leaves and use neem oil.

Pro tip    For larger leaves, provide a support made of sphagnum moss or coconut fiber for the plant to climb.
