PLANT CARE

Light  Thrives best in a bright space with indirect light. She would also like some sun in the morning or late afternoon. It will not be very happy in low-light conditions.

Water    Water moderately. Allow the top of the soil to dry out between waterings, water about once a week. In winter, it needs less water. Overwatering can lead to root rot. If the soil stays wet for a long time, the plant may not be getting enough light or may be planted in an unsuitable substrate.

Humidity     Loves moderate to higher humidity (above 40%) but adapts very well to normal indoor humidity.

Do you need to improve humidity level in your place? Here are our recommendations.

Common problems and solutions

  1. Drooping leaves – Most often caused by improper watering. The plant may be under- or overwatered. Check the soil and water if dry, or inspect the roots for rot if the soil is still wet.
  2. Yellowing of lower leaves – A natural aging process. Occasional leaf drop is normal. If it happens frequently, the plant may lack light or nutrients. Move it to a brighter spot or fertilize with a mild fertilizer. Check that the roots are healthy.
  3. Leggy growth – The plant is not getting enough light. Move it to a brighter location and rotate it occasionally for more even growth.
  4. Pests – Thrips and mealybugs are especially fond of this plant. Leaves may appear misshapen or discolored, sometimes with a silvery sheen or brown spots. Try washing the leaves and using neem oil.

Pro tip     Prune the shoots regurarly to encourage fuller and bushier growth.
