PLANT CARE

Light    Can tolerate direct light, medium bright spaces to low light spaces (just water him less).

Water    Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. During the active growing season (spring and summer), water approximately every 10–14 days, depending on your environment. In autumn and winter, reduce watering significantly — every 3–4 weeks or only when the soil is fully dry.
Overwatering is the most common issue with Beaucarnea.

Humidity    Prefers low to average humidity and adapts very well to normal indoor conditions. No extra humidity is required.

Do you need to improve humidity level in your place? Here are our recommendations.

Repotting and feeding    Loves a well-draining soil mix, such as our Universal houseplant mix with added mineral components. Repot only when root-bound, as it prefers snug pots.
Feed once a month during the growing season with a balanced NPK fertilizer. Avoid feeding in winter.

Toxicity    Not toxic.

Common problems and solutions

This is a very resilient plant, but you may occasionally notice:

1. Soft trunk or yellowing leaves - Usually caused by overwatering. Allow the soil to dry out completely and reduce watering frequency.

2. Brown leaf tips - Often due to inconsistent watering or salt buildup. Flush the soil occasionally with distilled water.

3. White cotton-like bugs on leaves or trunk These are mealybugs. Remove manually with an alcohol-soaked cotton swab and treat with neem oil if needed.
