\u2013 30% coconut peat<\/strong>
Coconut peat is a wonderful natural substrate that doesn\u2019t compact. It is airy and full of micro-nutrients that promote healthy growth. It absorbs up to 10\u00d7 its weight in water, yet its structure keeps the mix light and breathable.<\/p>\r\n

\u2013 30% bark<\/strong>
Bark adds aeration to the soil. Larger pieces in the substrate encourage healthy root development and make the roots stronger. It also helps retain essential nutrients.<\/p>\r\n

\u2013 25% perlite<\/strong>
Perlite is a natural, eco-friendly additive made from volcanic rock. It is porous and lightweight, and a key element in the mix because it supplies roots with air and water. A substrate containing perlite is also easier to re-moisten after it has completely dried out, as its porosity helps it retain water well. It is chemically neutral and reduces salt content in the substrate.<\/p>\r\n

\u2013 10% compost<\/strong>
As a natural fertilizer, it enriches the mix with organic matter that feeds plants with all essential micro- and macro-nutrients. Microorganisms improve plant health by preventing the growth of pathogenic fungi and bacteria.<\/p>\r\n

\u2013 5% charcoal<\/strong>
Charcoal stores nutrients in the substrate and increases nutrient efficiency. It also binds and neutralizes harmful toxins that can damage the plant. Using charcoal can also reduce the need for fertilization.<\/p>\r\n \r\n
